NO NO! Say it ain't so!!
« on: Dec 07, 2005, 10:52 PM »
What the hell is this?  We finally get some ice formation, and all of the sudden we are going to get a thick blanket of insulating snow! Dang!  The brightside, however, is that snow on the ground will aid in radiational cooling, dropping the night temps significantly.

Calling for 5 to 10" in Albany, more to the south.  I am looking on the brights side, there is no ice on the big waters yet.  At least it won't blanket nonexistant ice.

Yeah guys, the snow sucks. We were planning on hitting a small lake over here on Saturday, but I just got a very bad report. We've been getting hammered with the lake effect white sh!t, and it's preventing us from fishing.  >:(

Boy, it's nice to be in MN.  Even in the Twin Cities, almost all lakes have 3-6", and farther north, almost 10".  All you NY boys still wanna argue that your state rocks?   ;)

Always wear clean underwear, cuz ya never know when the paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off.

We picked up about 10 inches in northern Saratoga County and it's still falling.  Thankfully 'Toga had little ice on it as of this morning, so this shouldn't be too detrimental.

Looking at the parapit outside my office window here in Albany I see about 2 inches and the radar screen shows the storm past here now.  Anyone know what Grafton has?

Uh huh.  NY rocks alright.  We got fishing here you never even dreamed of.  Let's see can you catch Tuna, bluefish or big stripers in MN.  Um No.  Can you catch big king salmon, 30lb rainbow trout, 30lb brown trout in MN, Um No.  Anything else I'm missing.   ???  Sounds like NY is pretty sweet.

that's tellin' em SB!  I picked up minnows, fatheads, nightcrawlers and spikes at lunch today.  Leaving in 20 minutes to check out a crappie/gill/pickeral pond that I think should be froze solid.  Hope to fish an hour today (just in time for the crappies!) and about 6 hours tomorrow morn!!

I can relate to you guys in WNY and Capital area because we hate snow and usually have a good freeze of 2 or 3 inches of Ice then, Wham 2 or 3 feet of snow on top. It stinks :( Fortunanally we have had hardly any snow this year, yet.
BTW, i heard that most all the hunters in Min-soda have put their hunting stuff away and are ice fishing.
We are still hunting here in NY.

I put my stuff away, but I could still be hunting for small game or bow or muzzleloader.  I just got my buck by 7:00 Opener morn, and have no reason to freeze my @$$ off right now!  :)

Always wear clean underwear, cuz ya never know when the paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off.
