Bunney Boots
« on: Feb 11, 2004, 01:30 PM »
My white Bunny Boots (some call them Mickey Mouse Boots) are shot and I need a new pair but seem to not be able to find them as all old military surplus stores are either closed or say can not get them any more. Any idea where in Wisconsin I can get a size 13 pair? I have been told they also come in black which is fine. I know that the military used to use them but does anybody Know their history and how long since they have been made?
Good thing about prisons- they reduce the potential number of fisherman on the ice!

If you can't find any sources is Wisconsin try going to:

www.google.com

and typing:

U.S. Mil Mickey Boots

in the search field.
There are several places that show up that can ship them to you.

By the way, the blacks are Mickeys and the whites Bunnies.

The black mickey mouse boots are not as warm as the white ones.  Cabela's recently was selling the black ones for $49.99.  The white ones typically cost around $79.99.  Warmest boots I've ever owned.

If you get apair, make sure to put some air in before you go out. I didn't one day, and my feet were miserable. And this was with the BATA brand, which is supposed to be the best.

As far as history goes, Im not really positive. My boots are stamped "June 26, 1972" on the inside ankle part.

Try these sites for mickey boots

              www.colemanssurplus.co m

              www.ljtrading.com

              www.sportsmansguide.co m

I got a pair of white size 13 from sportsmanguide this year for around $79.00. And was very pleased.

The air valve on MM boots is for airborne use only. To reduce air between the layers while in flight other than that they should be left closed!!  ::) ::)

Has anyone ever seen these advertised in a size 15?  :-\ I've checked the above sites and nothing that gargantuan. I'm happy with my LaCrosse, but wouldn't mind having a backup pair.

Ebay normally has 2 or 3 pages of them. Good deals also.
