I don't go down there much anymore. From Hawkins down through gets fished soooo hard.

I'm relatively new to ice fishing. i live Watertown area and we just had rain yesterday and was around 38 degrees. How much do you think it will affect the ice? Will the places that had about 5 inches of ice still be safe to go on?

Wasn't Robinson.  Put the spud through in several spots without much resistance.  Some ice good there and some not.

I would be aweful cautious.  Ice by me sucks now.....We got alot of rain.  I got to work in Watertown last night at five pm and left this morning at 700 and it rained the whole time.  Now add in the lake effect......Will be nasty ice.  Hopefully it all stays to the south.

Is there anywhere to get on the ice at Black Lake where you will not have to walk to far to a good fishing spot. This getting old sucks.

Try looking on reports and conditions page, under black lake lots of information there. Rollaway bay is not far walk, to get on Fish.however there is a little hill to climb. I can't speak about ice conditions. Call Chapman's baitshop they can give you good Intel. 315 324 5265

Fished eel bay today, definitely my best day of the season so far. 9" of ice where I was and the perch were hitting all day.  Brought home about twenty keeper perch over 13".  Jigged a Northern around noon he was just shy of 30". Fantastic day in the shanty. ;D

Any body been on Butterfield?  Or Millsite?  I've never fished those lakes - looking for a starting point "area" to target for Crappie or?

Looks like we might be in for some better ice making weather.  Think the next week or so with temps below freezing will tighten things back up for the first weekend in February?

I fished there a week ago and conditions were not the best....no way I would go near that place now after all that rain we got..... I imagine the current has done a number on the ice....
