My season was subpar again this year.......pike and perch numbers seem to be below average in spots that have produced in the past......had a nice finish to the walleye season and found some new spots for next year .....no sign of the ice leaving any time soon so i am still chasing the panfish......

By the sounds of things alot of people had bed seasons. We had our best season ever last year and our worst this year for catching pike. Everywhere we went it was slow and sometimes no fish at all. Not sure of the reason but it can only get better next year. Any thougfhts on why it was so bad ? Maybe snow depth, maybe ice thickness , no idea

Fished LOTI today with caracajou17. We had a slow start and had to sort through a ton of dinks but managed to bring home a pail of slobs. Just got through cleaning them and had a great day with my newest fishing partner. The ice was solid 17 inches with a light(1") slush cover. Saw 8 other shanties on the ice. The ramp is bare and there is a little slush straight off the ramp but nothing to keep walkers or machines off for the foreseeable future. LOTI was my first trip out this year and it looks like it will be my last as well.
JBoggey, I had a wonderful time yesterday! It was so nice to spend the day together on the ice. You sure did put us on the fish, Jim! That was the first time in awhile I have taken a pile of fish back to the truck. The pic is of the 12-incher I caught and wouldn't you know, 5 mins later, JBoggey catches a 14-incher.  We took home 26 fish in all.  Great times.

Yo eyehi,

Glad to have met you. Hope we can get together next time. I am sure LOTI will keep producing and should have just about the last ice of the year barring 10 days of warm rain haha.

We will be ice fishing for a while thats for sure.....have some friends on loti today curious to see how they make out...

Getting close to the end of the line for me the shorelines are starting to go quick now with all the water on top.....have been catching crappie and gills for the last week but the jumbo perch have eluded me thus far.....good friend of mine got a wall mounter crappie after several years of trying  ;D

Anyone ever fish forked lake in the town of long lake? Up there all the time in the summer wondering if it was worth the trip?
Thanks
Check the ice with the biggest guy in the crew and call him "sounder"

yes, real great fishing.you have several ways to get to the water ,the forked lake rd, and off rt 3,is the carry rd [to me you need
a boat, this where the deep hole is[44ft]is stocked-salmon,trout,-it has LOTS of bass, has pannies
salmon, lakers the deep hole, and the deep brake on the shore line
brookies the inlets,i use spinners
pannies,i use worms

What are everyones goals/game plan this season?

Me:

1 - personal best northern pike

2 - personal best walleye

3 - spend a lot of time on the ice

same as every year.

I'll drink to that! :woot: Congrats on your doe. Passed on a 4-pt and a doe because I've got an 8-pt on camera. I'll try rattling soon.
