Don't think he wants us to know.  Might be giving away a hotspot to a "flat-lander"  FUNEE! Seems Colton is in the dacks and I own a cabin in the dacks near to Santa Clara - Hmmm both North Country locations to me.

Technically, south Colton is actually in the dacks, Colton is not. Matter of fact, if you stould on the top of the hill in Colton and looked south, you are looking into the Adirondacks, if you look north down the hill, it is where the seaway valley starts! Which use to be one giant body of water a very long time ago. I am smack between the seaway valleys and Adirondacks, stone throw from both.

Got out on little sacandaga today able to get into a few decent perch,  about 7 inches of ice,  enough for us to get around on the snowmobile

First trip of the  year today the first spot we went was a bust due to open water on the shoreline......after a half hour drive we were fishing at location two.....fish were active as soon as we got there and we had waves of fish come through as the day progressed catching a few keepers every hour.....really wish we had started off here at daylight as the bite was good and faded as it got colder throughout the day .....good to be back on the ice again finished with 19 crappie and 3 gills not a bad start   ;D

going to finally get out this year and be an "extreme frontiersman" hahahaha. maybe not as extreme as some people think we are but it will be good to get out for the first time and do some jigging and running back and forth. So pumped my ice season starts in the AM!

Crappie perch and gills..... Our main crappie lake we average 12" a new perch lake we found last year we get them 12"-15" and gills are normally on average 8" We can usually fill a frabil sit n fish bucket in the 4 hours we fish and thats with throwing the small fish back

I fish a lake where there are walleyes in it but I haven't figured it out yet to consistently catch eyes out of it last year managed a 19" eye and it was very thick which was nice. If I remember correctly it was close to 4lbs.... male too

I have years where I target specific fish that I normally don't target. One year when I was in college at cortland it was trout. 2 years ago it was muskie and I got a 44" muskie (the picture in my signature) and last year it was eyes but only managed one... The lake that I caught the eye in was the same as the muskie I just happened to get lucky with the muskie. the eye I've marked em just last year was finally the first time one hit the jig

Nice.

I dont really pan fish. I will jig for perch though, we get some awfully big ones on the river as well. I like to jig for walleyes, as well. Mostly tip up fish for pike, tipup/jig for walleyes though. I like to musky fish too but during software season, obviously. The musky in my avatar was caught on topwater. No bigger thrill to me in fishing then having a 50" musky blow up a topwater. I'm going out in the morning to a pike spot I haven't got to fish yet, I'm stoked.

Good luck everyone who is fishing tomorrow.

When we go upstate we target pike (usually hit Chaumont) but the muskie I got was on my one tip-up set up for perch/eyes.... 8lb flouro leader... didn't think it was a muskie as it was coming in nice and easy and passed the hole on it side then ran for its life... after I saw what it was and how big it was I new I had to be calm and not rush it.... about a hour and a half battle... Only one i'll keep for the wall tho I said anything over 40 would go on the wall. had a 22" girth as well (12" carp in its belly was the reason for that). I have the last 45 minutes on video which is sweet

With the amount of moisture in it, the below zero temps next few nights should freeze it solid.
