Nothing wrong with Pike. IMO - they are the best eating fish around here.  Just need to learn how to cut them.  ;D

Do we have a skim coat on the smaller central ADK lakes?  Single digits now, but then it stays right around 30 for the next 10 days.

Well, the ice on Black Lake is/was not thick enough for me this AM.  :P  Another day is coming though.  Looking more like we are going to get the worst - 6" of white stuff on top of marginal ice.  >:(

Does anyone fish Pleasant Lake in Macomb? I tried it once 2 yrs ago while we were looking for safe ice to fish, there wasn't anyone else out there. We caught a few perch (1 jumbo), 4 bass and 4 pike in an hour. Seems like it might be nice. Have heard rumors that there's eyes in there too...is it just over-shadowed by the more popular/accessable spots?

Was gonna head fo black thursday but after pike goin through and the predicted snow lookin like i may be sol. If anyone makes it out tomorro or wedensday shoot me a pm on safe ice. Its a 2 1/2 hour ride for me. Thanks.

Fished today, 5 pike and a couple bass for the group. I personally got skunked. Met up with some friends I haven't seen in a long time. My buddies gf caught her first pike through the ice. Was a good day.


Going back out in the morning.

Fished today at a different spot had a good 4-5". My buddy caught a 29" and I got nahthin. 1 drag and drop early in the morning.

Better than I did. Fished for tigers this morning. Ice got sketchy so I picked up and went to a pond that did not produce a thing. Looking like I'm done for a bit unless there is still decent conditions up north over the weekend, which I expect not.
