How to get the stank out of a pop up
« on: Sep 01, 2014, 10:24 AM »
Bought a used cabelas 6x6 hub, pop up.

This thing wreaks like mildew!!
Took it to the local dry cleaners and they ran it through their hockey equipment cleaner and it helped a bit, but this thing still stinks.

What can I do?

I'd suggest setting it up and letting the sun and fresh air hit it for a few days.. might help to also try Lysol spray to get rid of musty smell.

I'd love to set it up outside for a few days, but it never seems to stop raining long enough to do so. I'll definitely try the Lysol spray.

Thanks!

I'd try vinegar ...or lemon juice ...setting in the sun is good along with airing it out ....charcoal absorbs some odors ...get a bag set it up high and spread it out also a fan to circulate and move the odor out ...the Frebreeze .

If Mother Nature doesn't help see if you can find a small ozone machine to borrow or rent.  Work great if you have access to one.  Good luck!

Bahahahaha! I'm not Mennonite and just recently moved to Steinbach.
There was really no Reimer Friesen to it!
Waa, waa!

This shack is funky smelling!
The dry cleaners used their ozone generator and it still wreaks!

I bought a used flip over this summer that had housed mice for 10yrs in a guys garage, stink isn't a nice word to describe how this smelled. anyway, I set it up outside and let the wind blow through it, plenty of holes from the mice living in it, and today it doesn't have a odour about it at all. I left it out in the rain and wind for a long time too.
