Anyone ever fish Coopers near Ovando? Curious if it may be worth hiking into for some trout.

About a mile from the lake you'll come to a parking area next to an old teepee burner, which is the end of county maintenance.  Don't try to drive your street vehicle further.  Even if the road  has been used so much that's it has been packed down right after the end of county maintenance, at some point before you reach the lake access it'll probably deteriorate to the point that you'll get stuck.  Take a snowmobile or a snow-capable ATV or hike the rest of the way to the lake access, which is a short distance from the outlet of the lake.  You will probably be able to catch some trout in that area.

Coopers doesen't always freeze.
I have seen years where Browns has 12" and cooper is wide open.
Lots of warm water springs.
Good luck.

Thanks, hiked in this afternoon and fished for a couple hours near the outlet. Plenty of solid ice but under lots of slush and snow. No bites unfortunately.
