Has anyone seen the weather forcast? Its calling for highs in the 50S for Saturday, the ice wont last long with those temperatures.
-
Yeah I saw the 5 day forecast. They are callin for below freezing at night so we might get lucky. Have a good solid 9" of ice on the lakes I fish, and in spots more.
-
Look at it this way....in the past several weeks I can not recall the weather man being right once ;D
-
I'm sure hoping for good ice this Sunday ! The hotspots members are ready to win the trophy back !!!
Cross your fingers !
-
The warmest I had seen was 41. Guess it depends on where you are from. This was for Fort Wayne.

When I woke up this morning at 6:30, I checked the forecast for Indianapolis and the high for Saturday and Sunday were 48 and 50 respectivley. Just checked it again now, Saturday 41, Sunday 43. That's the weather man for ya......Must be a woman I guess.....Changes her mind too much.
Catch em up

The way I see it is maybe a week or a week and a half it will depend on the rain. The ice up north will last a little longer.
-
We,re havin a heat wave for sure.......still have 8+ inches here in starke county. As long as she doesnt rain, we will be ok.
-
Ok lets have an ice report after this rain and warm temps.
-
have it tomorrow for you. but guys were fishing today around here, and further north.
-
Jigginstick, the ice will be good tommorrow and then you're pressing it,I fished Summit today on 4"-6",but it gettin soft, got a few gills and a perch,I went out with Hoosier Bassin
-
Suprisingly Prairie Creeks ice is not as bad as I thought it would be. Fished it from 3:30 till 5:30 tonight. If the rain tails off wed. through fri. temps just might tighten it up. Keepin the fingers crossed. I managed to pop another eye after the get together Sun., so Im really hoping to get after em again. C'mon Alberta Clipper where you at?
-
fished winona today
around 5-6 clear ice auger cut a little funny at first
scary part for me was not seeing water on the ice
this water is going some where
-
just saw the fort wayne area forecast. if it holds true should be fishing around here thru the week end.
-
hey jigginstick. just got off of work. didnt get a chance to get out :( cant tell you the ice thickness here or even what it looks like. the s**-OF-a-b*****s made me work over.
-
I fished today at Summit,it was iffy where I was,the thicknesses varied, anywhere from 3"-5",think Im done for awhile till it tightens back up,the bite was slow by the way. :(
-
just do a little more jiggin and a jaggin. or is that zigging and a zagging? ;) just be careful out there...
-
Just came off Prairie Creek. We've lost about 3 inches and the edges are hairy but you can still get on. Ice is between 4 and 5 inches. Should tighten up over the next couple of days. I'll keep ya posted as I will be out there jigging!
-
Summit is going quick
-
I'm planning on coming back up to summit Saturday what do you think the ice will be like then. Would it be worth the trip?
-
Yea Stonecold it should be good, stay in touch and I'll let ya know ok,there was 4"-6" today and its freezing as we speak, and is gonna keep freezing for the next 48 hours,Jimmy
-
Thanks Jimmy. I think I'm going to bring my wife she likes to fish and this will be her first time ice fishing. If it goes ok I might try to make a weekend out of it and maybe hit P.C. also on Sunday.

I met some friends of your in Jan. on summit lake (A nice guy and his dad that walks with a cane) He said you were a guide on Brookville for walleye. Have you done any good yet this year? How would I contact you about a day on Brookville for my little girl and maybe my dad? Has anyone heard anything ???about Summit perch after iceout?
