Went out to upper twin see what was going on.  Lots people fishing and walking everywhere on the lake.

  • Why can't it go from warm to instant fishable ice?

Thanks for the info. What are they fishing for, do you know?

Fished blue today, about 1 fish per hour. Ice was great, 10 inches of hard ice, no slop. Was painfully slow unfortunately.

Fished Blue Lake Friday with a group of 5.....slow day with only about 20 fish between all of us.  Fished late morning today for a couple of hours and only landed 2 perch.  Saw a couple on the flasher....but not interested in what I was throwing at them.  A few other groups on the ice and it sounded like a slow day for everyone.

Went around and checked some locals. Round is open water just off the dock. Shepherd is about 4” of white ice (wouldn’t trust it) and mirror was 5” of good ice. Hopefully ice holds for another week until I get back from my work trip this week!

Dont waste your time going to the chain lakes, nothing but open water.

Hit Blue Lake yesterday afternoon.  11” solid ice.  Slow fishing with only 5 perch landed with 2 crappie. Could see fish on the flasher but only half the time resulted in a bite.  Still....awesome day to be outside.  Others on the ice the past week have said activity has slowed down.

plfish, Was that you my daughter and I talked to on Monday (Presidents Day)? We were just leaving in the silver Sequoia.  I haven't been back since then.  Pretty long drive for us from CDA.  That was a slow day.  I'm getting spring fever with these warm temps.

Yup that was me.  For whatever reason the activity has dropped off the past 2 weekends.  Some changing weather might help pick up things.

I went out on Gamlin Lk. yesterday. had 4 in. of ice. about 1.5 in was clear. At 1st I stayed close to the truck with a rope with in reach. After a couple of hours 3 other guys showed up and went out in the middle of the lake, then I went out and joined them. I didn't get any bites. I am done with that lake for the season. I also checked Shepard lk. and it had about 6 in. of ice. I think this weekend I will try Granite or Blue Lks.

Does anyone know if someone went through the ice on Shepherd lake?  I drove by there yesterday and there was a single folding chair on the north end of the lake by the weeds and no one around.  There was a hole to the east of the chair with what looked like drag marks out.  There was no rig at the boat launch / parking area.  Just curious if anyone had information on what the story was there.

Saw a lone ice angler stretching the season on Sacheen Lake in Pend Oreille County, WA, on Saturday March 21st, 2020.  Probably will fall through if he keeps it up.  Someone did break through a few times getting out off the boat ramp.

Wow, that's crazy, considering that ice conditions were less than ideal up there this year.

Is there a public boat launch in bottle bay, or just the one at the resort?

I checked on him last winter just to see why he had been so quiet.  He said he was fine.  Hope to see him on the ice this later this year.

Not fair.   Some lakes are already going south Idaho.

I've seen some action down south on facebook, was hoping blue, bead, or freeman would be frozen soon
