Well I think if I tired I would take Breaks ,
Well I’d think carrying a back pack spud, auger and extra 25 lbs of fish and breaking through the crust would do harm to one lower back ,
And how does anyone know what conditions everyone walks out in
Maybe the whole lake isn’t the same 😉
Plus goon and I don’t go out blindly , we do a little homework first

well Freddie thanks  you really think I  could  get  25 lbs of  fish  ;D

They cut 200 yards of trench, dragged the sled all 600 feet to good ish ice, then lifted with air bladders and pulled it out. These guys have game for sure. I been looking in other forums, it happens so much in Minnesota they only get 800-1200 to do it.

I haven't been down there, that spot is WAY to the left of the breakwall. Maybe an old Xmas tree near it would be good.

That wouldn't be good for me! If I see a tree or a branch I'm gonna go over there and try to fish it thinking it must be somebody's hot perch spot.

Chowdaire,

That's why I usually put my sticks 50 yrds south or north of my hotspots!  ;)2

Well if no marker is posted , those holes skim over with a dusting of snow 😱
No fish markers left behind from this ol boy , if I did the poor guy that fished it might starve 😱
Back in the day when we did use markers  were no where near where we fished

That’s my fault that the goons claimed it as I fished  the same holes for several days straight years ago and was caught , I marked it on my gps like 11 years ago

top of the slush skimmed over last night cant stay ontop of it tho, only about 1/2in thick then any where from 2 -4in of really watery slush under that if we can avoid the full 6-7in of snow tonight tmrw  and be closer to the 3in it may harden it all up with cold snap coming in thursday night

We used to always put a stick on the north side of our holes.

One time we came out the next morning and a guy put his shanty right over the stick and all.

We used to always throw out a buoy when we were drifting and caught a fish. Next thing you know there is 12 boats drifting by your spot.

The good old days.

I listened to a podcast the other day that said that Roland Martin used to grab clumps of reeds and branches and use them to mark his big bass spots instead of the normal plastic buoy. I love hearing about the old tricks.

I  know a  gut that  would  use  a  orange tape on a  stick for a   marker   then  picked a hole  and  defecated in a  hole  then put  snow on  top  smear  some  fish blood   around  hole  next day he would get close to  hole and listen to  people  scream when they opened that hole  back up

lol he didn't want to turn himself in! That's messed up!

Fished Oneida last weekend. Stayed at Carbone's in Sylvan. Was a great weekend. the hotel and food at the restaurant were great. Got bait at bucks and bolts which isn't my normal stop but I really liked that store.

LOL, that's one reason I never open an old hole.  Never know what some folks stuff down their hole when they leave.

Like any of you old crackers would let A good bowl movement move you off the ice, my ass. I know every one of you has half A roll of TP in your bag, no lies.

As far as that hole is concerned by the breakwall, unless your "trying" to drive up Scriba creeek you will surely miss it. The sled went in 150 feet from open water where the creek comes out.
