Carbon County Environmental Education Center

Instead of throwing away the remnants of the fish after you get done filleting them , throw them in a zip lock bag and freeze them . Then drop them off at your convenience at the education center. They use them to feed the numerous animals in rehabilitation.  I dropped off some already. I froze about 10 panfish per bag . Good way to get rid of some pickerel also!!!!

I forgot to mention the Carbon County Environmental Education Center is located in Carbon County in Pennsylvania. It borders Mauch Chunk Lake I believe .

Do they have to be open to drop off the fish?

Mine get thrown away into my garden. Whet the scavengers don't eat. Rot into fertilizer to feed the tomato plants  !!

I wrap mine in newspaper and in the garden they go. It’s always nice when the crows find it and rip open the paper; the neighbors wonder how a gill skeleton got on their roof, in their gutters, or in their yard where the dogs roll in the smelly remains. ;D

One year at our old place ,..A  opossum took a huge catty under the neighbors porch...🤣

I took a few down to them and they brought out a 1 wing Kestrel hawk and sat it on a table few inches away from me. That was pretty cool
