Getting there......

Well, finally got the shack out on some very solid ice.  Got it all set up and had a chance to take the dog out today and relax a bit.  Had some decent action and got a few answers to some questions :)  Hopefully get back out this week-end.  Togue and Salmon went back for another day, Cusk is going in my belly :)


It doesn't look it, but a 17" togue


A nice fat 18" salmon

Nice work BUDDY! Nice and cozy .. Nice looking fish  I like that more day time cusk.. :thumbsup:   I just put up some of my famous cusk bait its stewing right now!! Yes every one  its legal.. ;) ;D

It is a 7X8.  I know, odd ball size, but I made it with the intent to stay out on the ice occasionally and wanted my bed/couch long enough to lay down comfortably (I am 6'3")  The couch is hinged and lays down into a 36" bed.  I like the shack, it is heavy, no doubt, but just have to pick the right conditions and go with it.  This is 6th year with this shack.  Next one is going to be a sno pro  :).

Yeah we are thinking 8x8 or 8x10. But like you said it's a weight thing then. I like the idea of the sno pro, but never seen a price on them. All aluminum so it's probably 300 pounds lighter than wood built

I think the 8X12 sno pro is somewhere over 3k, there is a 6X10 option as well but for the money difference 8X12 all the way.  It sounds like a lot but it's a one and done deal, last you forever. @)

Just the shell I believe, you step up in price the more they do to it.  Most guys just get and do what they want to it on their own.  The 8X12 you could live in and sell your house. ;D

Yeah I want just the shell so I can customize the inside the way I want. 3 bunks and a nice little table and counter top is the rough plan. Everyone knows how it goes from there
