Shack stuck in the slush!
« on: Jan 17, 2011, 04:24 AM »
Going to haul a couple of loads of wood ,then headed to swan lake to try to get my boys shack out of the slush and moved to solid ice! He tried hauling it out and got it stuck in the slush and had to leave it! Sounds like a fun time with a chisel!
Is it ice time yet???

A friend of mine had the same thing happen in the Greenville area.  The shack was frozen in pretty good, but not up to
the floor.  He and a friend took a power auger and drilled holes down each side of the shack.  Theydrilled down about
6 inches per hole.  Then with a chisel they were able to get better angles, and could cut out bigger chunks of ice holding
the skiis.  With a 2x4, and a little muscle they popped it out and got it moved in 30 mins.  If I had a shack frozen in
again I believe this is what I would try first..  I have done it the other way, and it took hours.

In those cases the chainsaw is the only way to go. It will work good as long as the floor isn't frozen in. ::) ::)

Well its on solid ice! Only took 45 minutes and we had it up on a bed liner and hooked to 2 atvs, All he has to do is block it up when he gets home and all is well! ;D

Burning it in front of 10-15 year round houses would really help the sport out Einsteins!
