pike by nature, are an aggressive feeding fish...you can troll or cast just about anything imaginable under the sun and eventually get a hit.......try a red or white Tube sock....Grump  :o

I heard about this last year on iceshanty chats and decided to give it a try. The very first time I tried it I caught a nice 3 lb pike in the first 5 min of using it. Now I cut a hotdog in half and use it on at least one of the set lines. :)

I have also found garlic sausage to be quite effective.

I like to give the fish a variety of lures and baits and let them pick.  ;)

Looking for that BIG BITE!

HA, this was a great topic last year.... I know many tried it and some had success. On a similar note I was sharkin this summer and we had a mess of bluefish swimming around the boat....they wouldnt touch any baits we put out with fish,....tuna, squid, mackeral. As a spoof I cut a piece off a cooked cheeseburger and it got nailed, then again and again. ended up with 4 fish all caught on cheeseburger and a circle hook.

At times I think Pike are like Largemouths. Put a large treble hook on a mid 1960s chevy hubcap, throw it in the water and you had better be holding onto your rod.  :o :D ;)
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

I soak all of my dead baits in a special brine.....fresh garlic is in it...and it most certainly outfishes "regular" dead bait
