weight for quick strike?

I would like to know if you add a weight on your quick strike?

I slip a 16p finish nail in it to weigh it down. Since I can only use dead bait, it helps getting down the hole faster. They tend to want to float especially when still partially frozen.

No weight for me,  if its live bait I let them swim.  If its dead bait, it should sink,  I also give it a good stomp to let some juices out.   I always figured if there was weight on the rig that it would hinder the action of the bait and possibly the hook set.  Just more stuff to tangle
Checkin traps and making sure there's FRESHBAIT!!!
