central/east ice condition

was on ice today- edges were excellent- 2/3 inches of snow on at least 6/7 inches of ice.
typical 200 acre lake- drilled holes to check-
advise that everyone do the same and be safe.

Had to try three places this morning to get on the ice , started at Bashan, ramp had no ice but the lake looked good, couldn’t find a spot to get on. Uncas was open all over, Beseck public ramp looked like an icy giant truck trap! Plus the area by the dam was pretty packed. Ended up at black pond in Meriden, some nice pickeral, bass, a nice perch, and a huge croppie, persistance paid off!

Checked Wauregan Res yesterday.  Didn't get out and check, but from the car it looked like open water about 20-30 out from the boat launch.
