jigging goldies on the ice

just was wondering the best way to get goldies while on the ice. should i target weeds,stumps,or points that are shallow? any one help with a suggesttion. what bait works best on the jig?

take an onion bag. The net ones, Fill with cat food and shake in the hole to try to bring them in. Small jigs or even tiny hooks tipped with maggots or a tiny piece of worm usually works. Thats what we do.. Oh yeah and keep the catfood in the water in a hole right next to you. Hope this helps.

thanks northwest should i use wet or dry cat food? should i find weeds or sandy spots

has anyone heard of using oatmeal as an attractant while jigging for them

ramen noodles with scent on them is what I was taught.

thats what i use is oatmeal and bread it has worked for me very well.
