I was reminiscing about all the old flashers I have had in the past and tried searching on the net ... just to see what would come up. One flasher I had many years ago was a Hondex. I typed it in for a search and was surprised as to what came up ..... here's a link : Hondex

Hondex is I belive Japanese. As far as I know they produce most of the products for Vex.

Vexilar is Japanese......

The company is based in Shakopee Minnesota, but the units are built overseas. Same with Aqua-VU, based in Brainerd Minnesota but their product is built somewhere else.

As far as I know, Vexilar is/was Hondex. I remember seeing Dave Genz in an old magazine fishing with an FL-8 Hondex mounted in one of his homemade "Iceboxes". His unit was complete with a motorcycle battery and a compartment to secure it. In hindsight, I see a Vexilar FL-8 Genz Pack. He also had the prototype Fishtrap with him that was constructed of plywood and white canvas.

Still alive and well. I guess Vexilar is just their "American" brand, either that or they sold off their flasher business to some folk in the frozen north.

Those folks at Honda have their fingers in everything! It seems also that every thing they build is built well.
