Sorry to hear about the dog.  I didnt get a chance to check, laker water in NY made it through the rain and I went on a binge.

Nice I saw a couple of your posts looked like some nice ones. I would need a prius to afford the driving you do lol, gonna take a few weeks before I'm desperate enough to be driving 3+ hours, and I've never fished any laker water (except 3 days at East Grand Lake in Maine and only caught salmon and cusk) so it is a bit daunting.  I'll continue to be patient here at home, hoping to take a drive northwest new years day to find something fishable, or possibly even in to mass if I have to.

Ya the gas is not cheap but I like the journey as much as the actual fishing.  I'll never forget the first time me and my buddy walked miles out into lake george on 4" of black ice..I've been hooked ever since.

Thats bummer did u try westside?
There were guys on both Westside and Tyler on Wednesday. I measured 3" of ice. Howells was  locked up. No body was on it. I measured  3-4", and ice seemed fairly hard.
Sometimes it feels like I live in a Pat McManus story!
