How are we looking in the ice department. I've personally never fished there so I don't know how fast it ices over. If we do have ice by then I'm in. Ill also bring some logs and trash bags

ravo the ice can form there at a good pace but it will take some cold days and nights hope this week it locks and starts forming some good ice. blaine will let us all know when it is safe he will most likely be one of the first on it.

I plan on attending with my brother Shaun again this year. We had too much fun last year to miss this year. I think we will set up in shantytown this year instead of along the edges. Too far to walk. I will bring something off the smoker and have the coleman fired up with coffee and egg and sausages in the morning. Start doing the ice dance.

Updated and bump (a moderator making this thread sticky would be nice...).

Wethersfield Cove is Outfitters back yard. When it starts setting up, they'll let us know. Worst case scenario is we push it back a week.

That would be nice. Especially after receipt of my most recent PM regarding the mod thread.

Anyone going to be going by the Cove this weekend and get us a report? I'm sticking to my guns and having the other outing Sunday, so I don't have time to drive by.
Pretty sure I know we're going to have to delay until the 12'th, but hope is a good thing.

Even if the ice survives, the river is coming up 5 feet in the next 24 hrs... Maybe by mid week...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, I drove by the Cove on my way to CTO this afternoon and didn't like what I saw

More than half the Cove was open, from the channel to almost the Marina was open and what ice was left didn't look good at all. There was a boat out there fishing also.
