Not sure how big he was, a guy I was with said he thought maybe 30.

You don't see that to often. Almost looks like he is under the ice though, not frozen in it. But its alot harder to tell in pictures though.

On the size of the carp I'd say 18 to 22lb range. Just using the foot in the pic for a reference. Pretty cool looking through the ice though

saw an eagle digging and pounding at the ice one day. a few days later i was back at the same spot and noticed a couple of brookies frozen in the ice.

Over 30+ years ago, we had a fish kill under the ice, I remember that I was cutting through the ice when the ice suddenly changed to wierd colors and my swedish spoon auger went through a dead carp frozen in the ice. LOL! I cleared away the snow around the hole and saw a hole clean through the carp! LOL! As a teenager, I got quite a laugh out of that one!

Last sunday there was a 10" bluegill submerged in the ice near one of my tip up holes on honeoye lake, ny. Didn't notice it until i was baiting the tip up with a sucker.
