1/21 Weekend Pics
« on: Jan 23, 2012, 09:22 PM »
Well I finally made it out on a pond not too far out from macomb. Never ice fished it before, so it was a real test. The ice was kinda sloppy in some areas but it was about 4 to 5 inches. With the pond only being a few acres I expected shallow water. Much to my surprise it was close to 30 ft deep! However the fishing was textbook! Off the damn a little ways I found stacks of fish holding in about 15 ft of water over 28 ft. All i had was waxies and they went quick. Kept enough to feed myself, my roommate, and some buddies. Not sure if I will be able to get out on that spot next weekend as the temps are above freezing most days. Stays safe! Here's the pics:

Anyone that has a flasher knows this picture is good news!

Looking good there man!  Hope to get into a mess like that before this crazy season goes away.  :-\  Glad to see you found safe ice near Macomb.

Luv it when the FL8 is a singin'...nice catch!

VERY nice catch!  I hope you get back out in the spring.  I went to school at WIU and used to fish Argyle Lake State Park.  I caught a big crappie there and won a new fishing contest at the bait shop, but I don't think it was as nice a catch as that bluegill you got.  What a nice fish.
