Ditch the bobbers and get a 'tight line'

okuma slv 2/3...about $60 and pretty close tolerances for a lower end price wise fly reel. the drag is real smooth with fine increments of adjustment. it has a clicker when retrieving line which is a simple spring that can very easily be removed if not wanted. some reels the clicker is the drag so you may want to stay away from them. there arent many 2/3 weight reels out there...and i like the small size for jign for gills in less than 10fow.

Okuma Vashon 3/4 (no longer made)
2 7/8 inch diameter. Clicker is only on when drag or line goes out. You can disable the clicking drag if you want to.

Okay thanks cause I was a fishing show and he was talking about fly reels for fishing and he didn't say what he was using but it seemed like a good idea.

If you disable the clicker is that like being in free spool? Backlash?? A backlash with 2 lb test is not good.

Most clickers are independent of the drag. All you do is remove the clicker assembly, usually just the little ball pin thingy. The drag washers and drag plates need to remain. Taking those things out would be bad.
