I am up most days at 5Am. Some days 4-4:30 and once a month 6am-6:30. These are the days I stay up late to watch a Hockey game.

I only have really old gas in the gascans for my Mo's.  How do you guys get rid of your old gas? I probably have almost a gallon of gas I need to get rid of and get some new stuff for the augers.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

My neighbor has a burner in his shop. I give him old gas,Old oil and even my used cooking oil. Basically any petroleum products. His shop doesn't have insulation in it but his burner gets it toasty in there.

i love my Eskimo it fires up every time usually with one pull my buddy's strike master is always taking a crap and wont run so he ends up barrowing mine  told him he would regret not gettin the Eskimo

I bought my Eskimo 43 shark 8" on sale for $300 and it runs and starts great and drills fast but doesn't throw snow up on my legs like my nephews new strickemaster does and I think for the money ya can't beat an Eskimo

anyone using viper engine oil ? what are you guys running in your eskimos? I was wondering if most people are using the viper oil or others. I am currently running sthil 2 stroke oil.i am only my second season with my mako

I run Viper oil, because it's readily available, cheap, and convenient at Fleet Farm where I spend a lot of time....

After I run out of my Stihl Oil I will be using the Viper.

Thanks rebelss i figured since the viper oil is cheap and made for the motor i might as well run it. and lefty thats probly not a bad idea always have stihl oil around

I'm running Prestone(I think) and Seafoam.  I'll switch to a more auger-specific oil once we run out.

But, you wouldn't put it in a fire.   Any other way could be the first.

Rebel are you running the Saber at a 100:1 ratio. I have been using the same stuff in my old auger,small outboard, and chainsaw. I have not been running it at 100:1 though. I know they say you can, but just have not been able to do so. I am still waiting on the delivery of my brand new z-71 from Glenns. The snow storm up there delayed it.

Here ya go. 'Gator probably has his nose in his bag of ever-present Cheetos...  

First, and most important, is STAY WITH THE RECOMMENDED 50:1 RATIO!!!!!!! You can use whatever oil ya wish, but use  a GOOD one, (Amsoil is great) and break it in with the Viper oil or GOOD conventional air-cooled 2 stroke oil first.
Synthetic is usually not recommended for the break in period, (by Eskimo) but fine after. Also advice directly from myself and my friends at Eskimo: Use non-oxy gas, a bit of Seafoam, (or now Startron) and the proper mix for the 1st tank. Start auger, let it idle for about 10-15 minutes, shut down, let cool. (Your shaft will turn slowly until the clutch gets broken it...this takes a while) Restart, and slowly rev it up to about half throttle, let it return to idle. Do this for about 5 minutes. Shut down and let cool off a couple of minutes. Repeat this procedure,  taking it slowly up to WOT. Do this for about 5 minutes. Now you should be good to go!
I say to stay with the 50:1 ratio, as it is there for a reason. There is nothing to be gained by going to a 75:1 or 100:1 ratio. If your engine is tuned right, it WON'T smoke, it WON'T bog, it will run right. If you've ever torn down one of these augers, and unfortunately, the cylinders are NOT built like they used to be, you'd see the scuffing/scoring on the jug walls from the lean mixture being run. Also, if you don't use non-oxy gas, the amount of alcohol raises combustion temps, and with the leaner mix.....you'll see the problem a couple years down the road.
