I've got a local pond up here brother ROTT, if you need a fix, call me and I'll get ya on it !!
May take ya up on that Brutha Lizard. Gonna be a while before I take a chance on any water over my head down he-ah on the flatlands, too much wind. Gonna check on 2 smaller ones that are protected from the wind sumwhat. They should be quicker to ice.
I fish solo most of the time so, safety is half of what it should be rite outta the gate.  :o Gutsa be twice as careful to take up the slack. ;)

Just love when my kids buy me stuff I can use. ;D ;D       :'( :'( On a sad note was out on the lake today and was moving to another spot when oil pressure gage went to zero. Checked the oil and it was fine, Nursed it back home and now the lifters are pretty loud. Got to check it out tomorrow. :( :(

Oh well hope everybody had a good xmas and have a happy holidays

DBL H, Couple observstions/questions . What are the red things in the booty pic? I have the rod in the same pic- lite action , I like it, got it paired with a better reel than stock. I`m not a fan of the Uglystik softwater rods , but I do like that rod. Also the Pvc rodlockah is sweet. ;)  I have a longer version that goes on the racks of the work truck for softwater rods(no reels). Sorry ya posted the Zero, but at least yer out on thick ice! ;D

HH, do you lube with Amsoil? I'm just guessing the shaft that drives the oil pump sheared from the oil being too thick.  Also, vehicles with pump or coolant failure have been driven 50 miles or so, without engine damage. Glad you made it back OK.  BTW Amsoil synthetic pours at near 60 below Fahrenheit. I'm curious as to what caused this failure, so please keep us posted. Thanks.

ps Nice Christmas haul. Ah, Boxing Day.

Hey everyone, I am a proud new member of the F.O.E.A.O. and I am stuck wondering about my next move. I have a Shark Z51 8" auger which I paid $350 for at BPS but I can't help but toss around the idea of returning that one and getting the 10" Z71 from Glen's for only $20 more. I mainly fish for trout/salmon/bass and worry about the 8" hole being too small to pull a big bass from, plus an extra couple inches might be nice. I am looking for some input from fellow owners, should I keep what I have or move up to the bigger one?

Thanks for any help!

What do those of you with the circle traps do to make them fit over the larger 10" auger hole? A buddy of mine has a few circle traps and I would hate for him not to be able to use them if I get the larger one.

Hi.

I am looking at ordering a new Eskimo and there is a place that has the 8" mako for 259 and the Stingray for 249. I know the stingray is lighter and less to lug around and and the Mako has more power to more than likely drill the holes faster, especially in late ice. Are there any other noticeable differences between the two? I am leaning towards the Mako just because it looks like a lot more auger for the 10 dollars.

I am also a new member of F.O.E.A.O and I went for the Z71.  I am glad I did.  I started it for the first time today and it is awesome. My neighbor came out while it was running just to tell me that it sounded like a beast.  Don't forget coupon code ShantyTown at Glens for an additional 7% off the Z71 also and they throw in a free auger bag.  I probably didn't need the 10" or the 3.7 HP, but for the small amount more why not?

My first auger was a 6 inch mo baracuda which actually will run lazer blades.  It's hard to find eskimo hand auger blades but i would think yours would work with mora blades as it is a straight blade auger.  Other than that you can always order them direct from mo.  The customer service team over there has always done me right.  Full disclosure I run a lazer 5 inch now but my bro-in-law is still running my mo baracuda with lazer blades.

A truck went threw the ice today east of where I was fishing yesterday. There is a picture of it on the Manitoba board. Crazy, the ice was over 20 inches thick where I was. :o :o :o
