Im lucky like Surf, my old lady likes fishing just not hardwater but has no problem with me going every second day. Last year she comes home one day after work with enough of my favorite frozen shiners to last me all season and I actualy still have 3 tubs i saved for this year. That reminds me, good weekend to go pick up bait for the year.

Ok guys. Went to my local Cabelas last night. They have most everything out on display. They had a couple jiffys, strikemasters, and eskimos. The only eskimo's they had there were the Mako, Shark Z51, and the Stingray. They said not all of them have been delivered yet so it looks like i'm going to be waiting a few more weeks. They had a lot of jig poles out but they seemed very overpriced. I went to Dicks after and the jig poles at cabelas were about 10$ more (for the same pole). They also had a TON of flashers. One whole shelf was nothing but flashers. I'll be calling them closer to christmas time to see what they have in stock then. I wasn't overly impressed with their selection of augers but its all I got to work with unfortunately. I'll keep everyone updated.

Ya Joe if you have gift cards for cabelas it isn't quite so painful, but they definately put the boots to ya on their prices !

Joe6, with the exception of the Z71 Shark, that's the whole Eskimo lineup...

OK guys before I can buy that mako I just have to know, why are the Eskimos so much cheaper than the other name brands if they are made in America and have more rugged metal parts. I just cannot figure it out.

They have been making Eskimos since 1960 in cumberland Wisconsin, they are able to keep their corporate Greed in check and will sell an American made auger for another 50 years ! Just my .02

I punched over a thousand holes last season with my mako with no troubles at all. Starts second pull every time. In my opinion it leaves you with MO MOney to spend elswhere on other stuff you need for hardwater

I wonderd the same thing when I was buying my first auger, a Mako. But like I've said, it was great! I have owned nothing but MO's since. I sold the Mako cause I had back sergry and couldn't fish n needed money. Bought my Barracuda used at a pawn shop, now just moved up to the Z71. Now I say why ask why? Great product, great price, great customer service. What more could you ask for?

Ya thats why I said " I don't stand upright anymore" 2 spine surgeries and a broken back last year. I fall down pretty good though, lol, maybe not properly but I fall down.
What do ya mean pain free day? Never heard of such a thing!
