And just what did you THINK I was doing during that winter of '83 while you were sleepin' with the 15 barking, yappin' puppies?! I was down here tryin' to keep alive that group of snowed in, frozen folks you know about by doing Devo impressions!!!!  Where's my red flowerpot??! :woot: Adam's asked me to come out to Big Sky Country and watch over the cowgirls while he's in that tourney.... >:D Then he's gonna post pics...go, buddy, go!!!!!

Soothe her jangled nerves by explaining to her that the fine print that came with your 'Mo clearly states that "All tourneys within the living perimeter of said owner requires appearance with said auger".... or warranty is null and void...;D
I'll pack some herring, lutefisk, and lefse, and bring my collection of Devo LP's along, which are sure to amuse your 3 year old, since that was the same age of Devo's manager.  :roflmao: What city did your fine bride reside in when she was in the land of 10,000 lakes?

I bought my MO used.  Do you got a copy of that warranty card?
She grew up in Shoreview right on Turtle Lake.  Yes I'm the only man that is happy to go visit the in-laws.  Just as long as I can bring my gear I'm good.  Thats where I picked up my MO.  Guy up north had it on Craigslist and I asked him ifhe ever got  to the cities?  He said yes and the rest is history, he even drilled a few holes in the lake to show the in-laws that it worked good.

You can't mess with the Reb. "Sly fox" is an understatement of my earlier years. "Crafty Codger" doesn't even scratch the surface... ;D  And per your phone call today, Surfy, I was gettin hammered on at the dentist....and then up to the mighty World Famous Mayo Clinic, where they told me "You're awful sick" "Why didn't you come in sooner"?!...duh...'cause I'm Reb...and they gave me some SUPER
antibiotics!!!  :woot: 'Sposed to be better by the weekend!!!!

Alta: Sorry to hear about your wife running off with the neighbor. He must have a large, new Eskimo!!!! One point of advice: When sleeping with someone other than the wife, it is imperative that you inform your partner that you were at the "Full Moon Grunion Spawning Tournament", which may last into the wee hours of the morning... an ice-fishing tradition. Keep your best friend's phone number handy, so that he may provide verbal substantiation as to your whereabouts.  ;)2
I will now attempt to rest up this weary body for future informative advice. Surfy, get your nose outta those pork rinds and take care of our members here until I'm able to provide intellectual back up.

Welcome to our site, Mr. J!!!! Unfortunately, no, you should never have oil coming out of your exhaust. With the proper mix, oil isn't even noticible in the gas...black oil? Even if you had bad rings on the piston, you wouldn't see something like that...does it run? How does it run? I guess I would give Eskimo a call at 1-800-345-6007, ext 146...Eva. Tell her Mark from Minnesota sent ya, and that you're a member of this site. She'll take care of ya. Please let me know what you find out....I'd like to know.... ???
Good luck!

i gave them a call earlier and they told me to clean the air filter. i took a peek and didnt look bad at all. seems weird that i need to do that already and i only started using third week in december brand new! i have no idea where im gonna clean the air filter since its soaked in fuel. i dont have garage and its too cold out. the auger runs but seems to bog down a little at full throttle. im gonna be out fishing all day tomorrow i hope the auger doesnt crap on me.

Your air cleaner should not be soaked in fuel. It sounds like you have a needle valve sticking in your carb, allowing excess fuel into the combustion chamber that is being pushed out the exhaust valve. Call them back..it's under warranty and what you are experiencing is not acceptable.... or return it to the place of purchase.
Keep us posted.

Well boys

Got the mako 8" for cheap.  Long story short bought a package.  2 quickfish3 and the mako for 500 bones.  Had a quickfish3 already so sold the tents and got the auger for 100 bucks.  All stuff was in the box never used, got luckey and love the auger so far.  Starts well runs like a top and looks snazey with the rest of my equipment.  Next on the list...marcum vs620....

I recently got my dad's Eskimo 10" auger. It's at least 15-17 years old.  Last time I used it was a couple weeks ago, and it cut OK.  I got new blades for it and hoped for the best.  Took it out today and cut one hole in mediocre time.  After that initial hole, other holes were damn near impossible.  The auger would not settle down, it wanted to jump all over.  It cut exceptionally slowly.  My brother and I teamed up (him on one side and me on the other) and it took over 7 minutes of continuous augering to get through 20 inches of ice.  Remember this is all with brand new blades!  My brother thinks the blades are out of whack or something is bent out of shape.  The point in between the blades is knocked off.  Could this be the culprit?  This auger situation really jammed us up today.

Any advice from this savvy group of Eskimo owners would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Fried eggs, hash browns, and a cup of joe.
