Suckers
« on: Dec 14, 2017, 09:02 PM »
Picked up a couple of packs of Suckers today at one of the metro cast and blast retail locations.  Sticker shock as it is every year...anybody know where a guy can go catch em for free during the soft water season?

I know Manitou lake has suckers in it if you go up and ice it. I made a specific trip there just to catch suckers only. every year it seems like I always spend way to much money on suckers for pike fishing.

Funny story about suckers. I was ice fishing at Willow Creek yesterday. We were going for trout. I was eating a piece of beef jerky when I had a hit on my rod. When I went to set the hook, my piece of jerky flew off my lap and down the ice hole. I landed the trout, but lost that piece of jerky. After that though, the trout were gone and all I got through that hole was suckers the rest of the day. I really don't know if the two were related, but I did stock up on laker bait.

That is probably the most overrated response I see.  I've gone there 3 times and caught nothing but stocker trout fishing for suckers.  I know how to fish for them because i catch them at Dillon and Granby like it's nothing.

Barry, there's ice up there but you may need to work a little to put fish on the ice. No ice in Kansas, huh? I wouldn't mind heading out to Norton for some of those Keith Sebelius crappie if it would cap over.
There's plenty of suckers out here and they don't all have fins.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

It's called "Seaman Lake".   Named after Milton H. Seaman, former Mayor of greeley Colorado.

Milt Seaman?  What a strangely redundant name.

Some parents are cruel. I went to school with a guy named Chris Cross and had a neighbor that adopted 2 boys with the last name of Naill, gave the boys different middle name of Rusty and Bent LOL.
The secret to fishing.....fish where the fish are.
