Ken's Spoons
« on: Nov 14, 2011, 08:00 PM »
I read an article about perch fishing in the 2012 In Fisherman ice fishing magazine about "Old School Perch."  They mention Ken's Spoons and Gusters. They actually look like a kitchen spoon cut and a hook soldered on to the tip with a plastic bead for bait.  I have tried to find them online and have had no luck.  Anybody know if they are able to be purchased online?  Thanks.

They look good.  I like the 1.5 holoscale ones.  I will be ordering some soon.  Plan to try them for some big perch, I like the idea of not having to bait.  Has anybody tried these?

I use them all the time for perch. I usually break the bead off though and replace it with a Jensen Egg, they are perch killers.Take a look at Smackin Jacks too.

we do good on the perch with Ken's and Macgathy ( http://www.mcgathyshooks.com/) spoons up here in Michigan.

No bait just the bead. they  fall fast, flash nice (brings fish in) and are quick to land and back down the hole. If u feel u have to have bait use alittle square of chicken skin (last along time).

Most of the bait shops/gas stations up here sell em on their shelve.

Oh and use a small swivel, they metal of the spoon will cut even power pro etc pretty quick with the action that they have.

J-
