Title: 45 days until first ice
Post by: lenz on Jul 17, 2018, 07:51 AM: i apologize for the lateness of the countdown, retirement is keeping me busy.
165 days to go, seems a long way off with temps in the 90's and oppressive humidity.
the only ice i see is in my Bahama Mama

small ponds here have 2" of slush on top.

Next week every day is in the high 40s with rain every day with the lows only in the mid to upper 30s

Dont know where you are in the state, But my 1st ice spot's extended forecast shows Low 20's at night and high 20's during the day all week next week :)

I will be on my central ma first ice spot this weekend but idk if it will survive next week. I have already been trapping bait through the ice.
