The 'moron' comment is totally out of line. Some one who is enjoying the great outdoors that we also love has had a tragic event happen. Let's hope that this person, fisherman, hiker, dog walker or whatever is rescued. I know that friends of mine are on the ice today in NH and I pray that they are all safe.

I hope this person who showed total lack of safety is rescued without any of the rescuers being hurt. Then charge them where it hurts the most... in their wallets.

I thought the point of owning an argo was that you could cross frozen and questionable ice with no fear of drowning being it is an amphibious vehicle. I have watched videos on there site of them coming out of the water after breaking through the ice.I dont think he was a moron...  would like to know morew though  ...

this is why they didnt go to far into the water, they were in the argo probly. it will keep you out of the water but have fun trying to drive it out after breaking threw the ice.

True they do float but one side breaks through and you get ejected. capsize. You dont go out in one on 3 inches of ice w a 6 year old. I still vote Moronic.

i agree a serious lack of judgement was the cause but do we really have to divert to name calling and such ?
not all lessons are handed down and sometimes we learn the hard way ..i can see why the guy felt a false feeling of safety being in a 6 wheeler and all ..mistakes made are lessons learned ..unfortunately it almost cost the guy his and his childs life ..i think the situation is bad enough and he more than realizes his lack of judgement with out us pointing out he is a moron and such ..thank god they are both safe !!!!

I agree.  My family's close friends lost their 19 old son (He was like my baby brother) about 4 years ago through the ice.  Common Sense to us ice fisherman, is not common sense to everyone.  It was stupid to do what he did, having poor judgment can result in a fatality awful easy.  Sometimes people just have a brainfart.  Thank God they are OK and i'm sure they learned a valuable lesson.

Glad to hear they are alright.

I can't stand stories like this as my wife picks up on them then my son has to stay home for these early season trips. My son is 7 too so pretty close to this guy only I will not be driving out on to the ice, staying close to shore and I will be fishing over 1-2' of water. Heard there are shanties out on this lake already too. Son is going with me. Might have a first thing in the morning fight with her but I'm ready.
