FISHSLAYER had a good morning of fishing while I spent about 1.5 hrs in the ditch. My truck was sucked into the side of the road, , , , STUCK REAL GOOD!
Good job fishslayer, , , , you lived up to your name.
We live to fish!

Fish-slayer and I decide to head north for 4 hours for some apparently big lakers. 40lbs???????Not.

Wildlife along way

Fish-slayer points to the mountains where we are heading:

Deep snow up that way

Scenery pics on ice and road

Main street Manson Creek ;D Notice the snowmachine tracks on the road. Most everyone there drives snowmachines around town instead of vehicles.

Fish pics, but nothing huge.

Yeah always wanted to see that neck of the woods but we have much better fishing around here ;D The lakers up there had empty bellies but around here they are usually full.

Empty bellies = hungry fish = easy to catch = lots of fish = way more fun. And you got to see some really nice country.

Few pics from the Home Ranch:

First fish of the day, strange but welcome catch: 10" rainbow :woot:

Second fish about 5 mins later.....Now I'm starting to get weirded out...another rainbow: 9" :woot:

[Can't figure out why this pic is smaller than the others ??? ]

Both those fish were crazy catches because in 10 years of icefishing the Home Ranch I only ever caught one 12" rainbow and all of a sudden I nail two only 40 feet offshore! Weird

We continued the action with this monster catch:

Then since it was Valentine's day I was feeling a bit loving so this squawfish became my victim    :cookoo: :cookoo: :

No burbys but I did have a couple nudges jigging with my huge 10" pink whitefish jig.

Fish-slayer and I tried to get into a good laker lake but got too much of a dump last night. (1ft)
Decided to try another lake that was plowed close to. Pics.

Well I have a few hours left in day. I think I will head south an hour to where there is less snow and BiGGER rainbows ;)2 So you didn't miss much Whiskey.

Well my final ice installment comes in the form of brookies once again...Likely my last ice trip this year. Shamus, Jeff and me went for brookies on sunday.

Jeff and me looking for the hole spot

Shamus gets a fryer:

Then I got a few:

This pic doesn't look like much but I'm laughing my head off at Jeff who just tried to hook a fish for the 10th time and missed again. A split second after Shamus took this shot my rod went tip down in the hole but I missed it totally because I was laughing so hard :roflmao: ::)  :-[

Jeff finally did hook some fish. These are his:

Nice scenery shot

That's all the pics. Nothing huge just a fun day with the brookies. Biggest was 16" Also got 2 bows.
I'm ready to bust out the flyrod now ;D

Icechip sent me this pic of his grandson with a 37 inch burbot. Biggest he has got in 3 years. A couple days late for the tourney :'(.

Unfortunately the tail curled up 3/4 down so hard to see full length. He said it was long and lean.....just right for the tourney ;)
