-6 here right now and I had planned on going out but I changed my mind..

I was out last night running tip-ups and had 0 flags between me and the other guy out there we had 6 tip-ups out.

I did manage a 31" Northern and a big nasty dogfish the night before though.

A real good way to "explain" the cold to kids when you tell them it's a no-go....take a cup of water and put it in the microwave until it boils and then open the door and throw the water into the air. REAL COOL, it kinda looks like the space shuttle Challenger with all the little streamers flying around. It almost sounds like it explodes!

I have a Lake City story unrelated to temperature but definately related to snow. Thia was in the later 80s probably winter of 1986/7. I went to Michigan Tech back in the day and we were driving back downstate to Muskegon. I had the car and a few riders with me and as we got to the Lk MI shores of the UP we ran into some fairly heavy snow. The snow continues pretty heavy as I proceeded down I-75 south to US 27 (now 127). Once we got to M55 we headed west towards Cadillac and it was snowing to beat hell. We got through Lake City and I was to the point where I had enough. I literally turned my car lights off (mind you it was about 10PM) so I could tell where the snow banks were - it was a serious whiteout and I could not tell where the road was with my lights on. We turned around and headed back to Lake City and found a motel and stayed overnight. Got up and there was an additional 6" on the cars.

Get this - next day we drove the short distance to Cadillac - they had no accumulation from the day before!! If I would have only went 15 miles further we would have drove out of it!! Oh well - now I always remember Lake City!!
