excuse me , but clearly i must defend myself AGAIN

first of all.......my 29 1/2" winning walleye IS NOT the same fish i caught 2 days before the tourney stsrted.........that was 30 ".......

secondly.......apparen tly i did post the wrong picture of me holding the fish.....the one i posted is of the first , non-eligible fish.........

i will gladly take , and re-post a picture of me holding my 29 1/2" if this witch hunt continues..........

The walleye you posted edfalc ain't fresh it's freezer fish.The discoloration,piece of skin missing,it ain't even fully defrosted l hope you screwed it up for your taxidermist........

After much debate we decided to let edfalc's entry stand. Although the entry seems questionable there is no way to prove or disprove it's a different walleye. That being said next season the rules will be changed to read : the picture must be taken immediately after the catch, while still out on the ice with rule and TI card. Also a picture of the angler with the fish out on the ice will be required and no frozen entries.
We thought long and hard and this was the only fair decision we could make.

i admire your's and scott's decision and wording, under a difficult circumstance. the rule change is a positive one, that will also allow for live release of some beautiful entries. grumpymoe

You can ask someone else on the ice to take the picture or a timer on a camera would be handy - I guess I'll have to learn how to use mine

Scott and I are throwing ideas around and we have 'til next season to iron out any rough spots. All I can say is there will be changes for next seasons tourney.

Not usually anybody nearby up here. Nothing to put the camera on either.

Not often I'm fishing alone but it is sometimes the case.

tipup will have to find a partner for those in-the-past solo trips!!

hey, i just had a great idea tipup. you can now purchase an underwater camera and capture those huge northerns for real proof. 8) 8) 8) and you dont have to worry about the fish freezing.

Its pretty pathetic isn't it. When we go through all this trouble to do things by the book and this garbage happens. If i knew this was gonna happen I wouldn't have even kept and entered some of the big walleye I caught this year. Well at least I know I had fun in this tourney and mine wasn't at the expense of others.

I had no entries in this years tourney as I was late in entering. Guess I have no real opinion on the winner and his catch. The judges did the fair thing, whether we all agree or not. I do plan on entering next years tourney. I like the rule about on the ice and at the time of the catch. Its a rule used by a local Outdoor outlet around here. Tourney card and ruler next to fish at time of catch.

One thing, hope I am not judged also by the number of posts made on the forum. Been a member since 10/02 and still considered a newbie. Guess sometimes its better to listen and learn or in the case here to read. Its a good forum and have picked up many good points from reading topics here.

how do you people figure they did the fair thing .the winner admitted to entering a picture of his 30" walleye first, then after being told he had to have a picture with a tapemeasure and the card .he entered a picture of a differant fish. even if he did catch a 29/28" fish, dureing the time slot aloud .he changed his entry.Maybe scot can't prove the fish isn't fresh, but the fact that me admitts to breaking the rules by posting one fish and then updateing to a second fish was enough to disqualify him.

The tourny is over with, so maybe you should get over it too. IF he did cheat he is the one who has to live with himself. The whinners, complainers, and those just plain jealous they didn't win are acting right along the same level as a poor sportsman who would cheat.

To enter all you have to do is reply to a post that Scott puts up a few weeks before the tournament starts.
