7 here.another warm up coming to melt the snow down again.about 4 inches of snow now.its becoming a pretty good ice season so far.

Half inch of rain coming Sunday. The last round of warm and rain blew out the shore ice on my local lake

man it was a blessing here, it melted over a ft of snow and left 4 to 5 inches of hard ice when the water on top froze.hard black ice too.

1/20 was 38 out fishing day time and went to 36 at nite time (land temps). the solar rays are making just enough of a difference for keeping holes open in daytime and keep water from freezing on the line guides.
once the sun is gone the frost sets in and so does the freezing on the guides and ice holes from the ice plate making the air on the lake colder than land temps.

it's fun to be part of it.

here's an ice melter forecast.

Monday
Rain before 8am, then showers between 8am and 11am, then rain after 11am. Areas of fog before 11am. High near 47. East wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

today is another great day to be on a lake!

Hopefully Wednesday will be able to repair some of the damage done until then.

But it's right back to warm after Wednesday too.

Consistent temps back below freezing aren't predicted until February 2nd. 5 days between now and then will be around 45-50 degrees

same here.if I was going to worry about the ice,its now.no snow protecting it and above freezing day and night.but I don't fret over it because I cant predict the future.ice will survive or it wont..ive got steelhead fishing as backup.
