Snaps for jigs #6 hook n up?

Got some small doulock snaps and noticed I could run them through the eyes of my larger jigs just curious if any of you have had any success doing this.

Personally I stay away from snaps or swivels attached directly to the lure. Just doesn't look natural with extra metal hanging off the jig

I do however like to tie a barrel swivel about 3 feet up to help reduce lure spin in the water.
