currently i have 8 rods, 2 are for deadsticking however.
my jig rods consist of;
29" light genz stick with a south bend cold steel reel (first time actually using this rod, the old reel sucked so i never used it)
24" ultra light silver eagle with a shakespeare intrepid reel (go-to rod, no need for a spring bobber)
18" light HT ice blues with a schooly reel (sight fishing rod)
24" light HT clear ice with an HT intrigue reel (new guy, have yet to see if i like him or not)
24" light HT iceman power system with an unnamed reel (old rod, picked it up at a gas station near one of the lakes i fish)
27" medium light klondike with an HT optimax reel (perch rod, if the perch are biting, i'm using this)

Usually 8-10 with me each outing. Total rod count is more than I want to admit...

I have a bunch of rods, but only bring 3-4 out with me fishing unless some friends plan on showing up who don't have any.  I set my tipups then jig around them, so I'm usually pretty busy on the ice.   My rods are pre rigged so I don't have to mess with them too much until I find what the fish want that day.  Then I start swapping jigs and flies to maximize my efforts.

I used to bring way too much stuff thinking that I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it, but I found that too much is too confusing.  It doesn't take long to swap jigs.  I always keep a spare rod next to me incase I'm on a school, and a fish just swallowed my jig.  I just grab the spare and keep fishing till the school passes  and I can free up my first rod.  Keep it simple.

I usually have 6-7 on the sled, and a couple more in the truck. They are always rigged with a vaviety of jigs, spoons, and plastic for easy switching on the ice. I suppuse there are a couple (few) more lurking in the garage. ;)

I bought 2 ml premieres and 1 ul premieres. Wanted a legend but didn't like the $50 tag. Not sure if I'd like the butt end of it.  Anyone think the ml's will be alright for perch and walleyes?

1- Jason Mitchell spring bobber pole, cardinal 101 reel
1- Homemade spinning rod with schooley spring bobber, Mitchell Avocet
1- Ugly Stik Pro Ice UL, Shimano AXULS
  6 or 8 Schooleys
1- Homemade jiggle stick w/Schooley reel ( just made it yesterday, too windy to fish)

Usually take 3-4 each time, depending where I'm fishing, sometimes 2 or 3 spinning poles, sometimes all Schooleys. ALWAYS take at least one Schooley, just in case. Damn things are indestructible and trouble free.

Well...I probably got about 30 ice rods I have accumulated over the years.  Anything from home made ones from broken open water rods (that are pretty stiff) to cheapies from HT and Shakespeare from my college years to some nicer ones i use now.  I primarily fish for gills and perch in shallow lakes no deeper than 6' so only carry my favorite pannie rods.  Currently I carry 3 UL 24''frabill panfish poppers, 1 croix premier UL 24'', 1 HT medium 26" slab stopper and a 18" UL blue ice with bucks mini reel for sight fishing.  I have pflueger presidents and trions on all the rods.  I really like the frabill poppers, they are really sensitive and very tough for an UL....just today i ice'd a 4lb bass and a 34" northern on em with 4lb fireline crystal w/ 4lb pline floroice leader.  Also got broke off 6 times >:(  luckily only had a fiskas (my favorite jig) jig on twice when one of these toothy critters decided it wanted a tiny morsal for a snack.

I generally carry 5-6 on any given day:
1-St. Croix Legend (bought it on clearance w/ a broken tip for $20 - easily fixed)
2-Black Ice - Love the IM7 graphite
2-Frabill Amplifiers- Good carbon fiber rods. They really snap the spoons
1 or more others- usually personally modified. Dependant on that given days tactics
It's not about luck, it's skill & determination
