Hi everyone,
I was wondering has anyone ever used the Berkley gulp for burbot? If so how did it work? What are your favorate brand of scented lures for burbot fishing? I have not fished burbot that much so am still learing how to effectively fish for them. The one's I have hooked have put up a great fight. The largest burbot caught in my area is 18.03lbs. Tight lines

I have tried halibut mud rakers and put some herring Smelly Jelly in the scent chamber. Don't really know if it was as effective as my glows. Only caught a few on it. I don't normally fish with scented lures.

Hi Terrygonefishing thanks for the info.
Do you feel that a glow lure would be a better choice even in the middle of the day than a scented lure for burbot? Good Fishing

Its pretty dark down at the bottom of a lake, glow in the dark lures with cut bait would cover both bases...

Hi Pasquatch,
I will try what you suggested for the burbot. I purchased those Lindy Thumpin grubs they have the techie-glow in the rubber, and I have a glow whistler jig head so I will combine them and add a cut smelt for sent, and see how the burbot like that. LOL, I hope my arms will be sore from all the burbot caught.
Good Luck also.

I find that smelly jelly works better than glow does. But the lake I fish you are not allowed to use treble hooks or bait.
