I have an FL12, which I gave to my daughter, and bought an ice 35, which I gave to my other daughter, and then I bought and ice 55... loved them all. At the end of the day regardless of which unit you buy, you'll catch more fish. They all make good units and you need to look at your budget and balance that against the options that the more expensive units offer. I've got a buddy that uses an OLD (it's really old) blue box fl8 and he outfishes me 3 to 1 with my more expensive ice 55. At the end of the day they all do the same thing... and you'll be happy with your purchase if your buying one of the the big 3 manufacturers... it's how you wiggle your worm, not how long your transducer cable is!
