ice auger quetions

I want to change my auger blade to a 8" from 10" i have a jiffy 30
can't seem to find many places to get one.
and does anybody know if i can change to a different models 8" blade
maybe one of the newer agressive cutter patterns
any info would help

You can change to the newer style blades.  I use an old jiffy and upgraded from the original chipper style to the newer jiffy stealth blades, they have the same bolt pattern.  The only thing is you won't have the 2 extra small blades on the chisel point like the newer augers, unless you drill some holes and attach them, but just by upgraded to the stealth blade makes a huge difference in performance.

I don't think your auger would work right if you put 10" blades on an 8" auger. As far as the model 30 is concerned, you can get a new screw and bolt it right onto your power head.

i have size 13 feet and even these biggins fell into a hole this past season
then i vowed to switch to the 8" maybe to save my fishing days..
there doesn't seem to be a large need for 10 inch screws
plus an 8" would drill faster and better


Anyone want to trade my 10 for there 8

I guess I misunderstood your initial question.  But to do what you want to, you have to change screws.  They are not cheap either. A friend of mine paid almost $200 for a new screw for his model 30!

ouch! Glad I got the icegator for sure  can pick up lazer hand augers all day  for not much money   besides I have both the 6 and 8" lazers  so always have a spare! and they both fit the icegator!

Try Kittery Trading Post. I bought a 8" screw for my Jiffy a few years back.
