Anyone have 1st hand info on safe ice in NW corner that they'd like to share? Can't get there before dark to scout it.

Good to meet you in person on Champ.  Wish I could help Matt but I haven't made a hole up this way all year.

nice try matt...perhaps the force will be with us...low ac was the go to guy..wish i had a social meet with him at champ..perhaps another time

drove up to mohawk pond after work
was able to walk on it from shore
lot of water on top
ice is only 4 inches thick
maybe you could fish it close to shore
but i wouldnt go any farther.

Same here.  We were so busy chasing flags up there we couldnt break away.  Mr. Fishon visited via quad.

With that 4" my rule would be this...water on top go for it.  No water on top its likely honey combed and I wouldnt go on it.  There is a tiny spot in Hartland you may consider...

Was in Hancock New York this past weekend. 12” still super solid.  Quads and sleds running the lake.  May go again this weekend. Only 2 1/2 hours away.  Good luck out there guys
