Lake Memphremagog info
« on: Jan 14, 2020, 12:20 PM »
Looking at heading up to the lake this Friday to Sunday from MA.  Wondering how the ice is??  Am hoping to get into some lakers and will be on foot only so not sure where good access point is. Is the Canadian side worth going to more north?  Any help would be greatly appreciated

strawberry acres is your best access area to walk out from. Or you can go to eagle point but the parking there this weekend will be a nightmare. Strawberry acres is big and decent fishing walking out a ways.

Our canadiens sucks so much that we are thinking about becoming Bruins fans!  And our bacon is good.  Just have to pick the right one! 😁

I fished strawbwrry acres a few times and the bite is really good.  Yes our side of the magog is a great fisherie but it really sucks not to be able to fish with live baits.

Hi Bigunit,

Do you fished this year Newport side to Strawberry acres?
This ice is ok to go with my snowmobile this weekend?
It's very sucks not to be able to fish with live bait in Quebec...
For this reason I like to fish Vermont 👍🏻

Thanks!

Come to the dark side!  where about on the Canadian side would you walk out from? I gotta head up there at some point this winter to have some fun.  Why did they make that no bait rule anyway??  is cut bait or dead bait allowed

Hi Hockey611,

Many points where you will can to go.

- Grey= Cedarville
- red= Val Perkins
- black= Georgeville
- orange= Knowlton landing
- green= Bryan Landing
- blue = Magog

Georgeville, Knowlton landing or Val Perkins are good points.

Cut bait or dead bait it's ok.
5 lines max tip up or jig
Rainbow, Brown and salmon it's ok but laker is closed.

The end season is March 31th each year.
Licence 1 day for no resident= 19.04 cad.

Good luck! 👍🏻

Good stuff. Thanks bud.  If I don’t make it up for ice I think a after ice out laker trip in the boat is in order.

My buddy drove on yesterday but said the ice was iffy. Good black ice was limited with a lot of mixed crap
on top from the snow, slush freeze.  He did not venture far from shore.
I can tell he regrets driving on. He said fishing was ok, was perching.

Thank you TRT for the reply, my truck will stay on solid ground but may bring the sidexside up. We will be mostly perching to but will take whatever comes along.

Hardwater,

They have been driving out to the islands in trucks as well. The launch looks like someone broke through and everyone kept driving through the hole to get to the lake. So if you plan on driving out stay to the left of the hole and you "should be ok." Don't quote me though.

We just got off magog.
Fished strawberry acres, first few hours of light was slow.
About 8 am- 11 am perch bite was good.
Pin heads were the preferred bait for them
