You know it Carl but I have to get through the fall Walleye bite before I can
concentrate on the ice.  I look forward to hooking up with you first ice and
hopefully PK will be able to join us to.

In the mean time I've been out chasing some native born trout around.

I should be fishing local waters on the 18th based on last three years average first Saturday trip dates.  Maybe earlier if we do not get snow.  Snowfalls will delay first fishable ice.  For me that is about 3 inches of ice with spud in hand to check for thin spots. 

In 2007, I was fishing a protected cove on Dec 8 and seeing open water within easy casting distance.   :o
