Things are looking up now!!!
« on: Sep 27, 2010, 05:36 PM »
I thought it would be fun to watch the progress of the changing of the seasons. As we had our family pictures done the other day I took some pictures of the surrounding area at the base of Mount Greylock. The leaves are changing early this year so I hope that means winter is coming early too... I hope you guys enjoy the pictures...

If fishing was work I'd never be sick!

We like the last few years have been out fishing on the day after Thanksgiving. It has become a ritual for some of us here. I will keep you posted.

I wish we got ice over here that early! I was out before Christmas last year, and hopefully I'll be doing that again this year.

"Safe" is a pretty loose definition...

3" is fine. There is enough surface strength in 3" to hold a four wheeler.

Safe is when you're on the ice all day and then come off without falling through. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Does getting a foot and leg wet count as falling through?

If you count wet legs and feet then I fell in way to many time last year.
3.5" for me before im out.
Its the late ice that ways gets me, went completely under last year but it was okay because the flaggs were flying that day.

If it does, then I am a member a few times over. Last year towards the end of the season, at a local lake, the ice was fine in the morning, and on the way in, I put my legs in 4 times. That was not fun, because it's a deep lake and was all white ice.

Another sign that winter is coming. Check out the size of Fat Jimmy. He is the squirrel that my daughter feeds.

He has already eaten a 15lb bag of sunflower seeds and now he is after the suit that I put out for the birds.
