All the ice around me disappeared real quick the last 4 to 5 days.  Saturday was almost 70!

It's part of the savoy state forest. You can get there off of rt 2 But to give you directions would be to hard it's in the middle of nowhere not that you can't find it I just don't the other names of the roads you need to take to get there off of rt 2 :tipup:I believe it's still fishable

Warren is not kidding. him and a lot of my friends went to Savoy state forest There is North pond bog pond south pond and Windsor pond. all have plenty of ice. Totally a diffrent world up there. Great spring ice fishing. Trout, pickerel, and bass. No big pike, but a lot of flags.

Just looked at Bog Pond on Google MAps. it is the only one in the area with ice still on it. this may not be a current photo but it is testament to it's ice holding prowess.

Were you by any chance fishing with Kevin, a bartender at the PNA, used to work for Big Y?

Don't doubt what some elevation can do for keeping the ice. Bog Pond has to be at or above 2000 feet in elevation.

Uhh... the fish? lol

How was the size of the fish there. Were they all tiny or does it have some fatties? I am planning on going there next season at the end.

We should have a gathering there for the end of the season when theres no ice left around :-)

the fish were decent size, about 10 of the fish we pulled out were 18-20 inches, mainly in the 10-14 inch range but the should plump up for next year

I'm jealous you guys are still icefishing:-)
I fished Mass. all last winter(2008-09) and had a blast. Now I'm back in Ohio and had a good winter with nice catches of walleye and slab crappie. My season ended March 9, probably could have pushed it a few more days but didn't want to chance it. I'm looking forward to next season already, fishing softwater just isn't as fun in my opinion, plus I don't have as much time with my work!

was another good day at bog pond, there was still 17 inches of ice but i dont think its going to be good for another week, we may try to go one more time but im not sure i want to risk it, the edges were a bit hairy but we were able to walk right on, some areas were starting to open up
