That's where I put a baited hook when I want to catch a fish.

I like to use dynamite and a gaff
Fishing is easy. Catching is the hard part.

marten ,I think your refering  to fish finder???? I use a Vexilar as its battery last me for a few days before a charge and it has a wide angle transducer which can pick up people fishing near you  Also their cost is a little less then some of the other finders or Flashers, You can carry them in a 5 gal pail for protection hauling on and off the ice.

I use a Marcum LX7 and an RT-9 along with some combinations of my 14 jig rods depending on species and sometimes tip-ups when slow, exploring or fishing with kids and new folks to the ice... when my gill net fails.  :icefish:

Harpoons work well.
Bait goes on the hook... hook goes in the water...smelt is in the water...OUR SMELT!!!
