I'm saying the same first week of Jan. Nice to see the snow and cold setting in for Christmas. Merry Christmas to all.

Checking some local watering holes today. Still hoping for first local ice saturday but that all depends on whats out there today. Nothing under a solid 4" for me so thats the goal. As of now, I am saying this weekend is still possible.

I would love being out locally this weekend, but I'm skeptical with the wind we've had. I have a feeling this is going to be a good season though.

idk fellas, but this extreme cold is bring in the ice. Stump had a nice sheen starting along the borders when I drove by this morning. We might see something before the end of year.

Keech pond is 90% locked up. Im hope will go out ice fishing before 2017 end.

I live so closer to Keech pond, only walk distance. But Often I fish at Stump pond. My mom live on the stump pond. I will check that lake sometime soon. I cant wait see

Monday and Tuesday look iffy. Other than that, forecast is pretty good. Through Sunday, highs are in low 30's. As long as we don't get too much rain Monday we are still moving in the right direction. I'm planning to get my fix in MA on Monday. That will tide me over for at least a week.

I think I might have to change my prediction. Went by North Cove today and it is mostly covered. I think we will see pictures of guys on 2" holding bass somewhere in the NW this weekend.

I checked the usual early N.W.ice spots this afternoon and it's going to take a few more days. I did fish in central Mass this morning on a few inches of good ice. It felt great to be out there again.

We have a few days in the forecast that may hurt the ice we have out there now. Lets hope for the best. This solid black layer would go a long way if it stuck around.
