20F light winds   next week rain/snow/cold should make for 3 inch black, 2-3 inch faux ice, perfect.  cant wait!!!

Sweet. Good luck Coldbum. Be sure to get us some pics to scratch the itch til the days off arrive for each of us. We're up to 0 degrees in HF. Stay warm Coldbum.

Lousy Saturday and I was un able to get out the door today  >:(
16 here right now.  Not much other than ice-making weather for quite a while - starting to look like a good year for ice around here.  If we can get 12 to 18" before much snow, it'll be great.

hant been above 15 in over a week.
If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 36 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in northern New York

Was out on a small lake yesterday afternoon, sunshine and pleasant temperatures made it feel like the end of March!  Some parts of the lake had up to 2 inches of water on top of 6 inches of frozen ice.  By the time I was getting off the lake after sunset, a lot of the water had already started to freeze back up.  Arctic blast coming in for the next couple days will solidify things again.

0.5 air temp and my new BIOS weather station says 16.8 mph sustained winds out of the North.  Our section of the St. Lawrence is still wide open but it's making ice fast even with the wind.
