12F this morning @ 7:30, ice on Wolf Lake in protected areas out of the wind. Drove to Monticello today to pick up my log splitter and three ponds along side of Rt 17 are frozen over.
Wanted to take some pics of the ice yesterday to post here but camera battery was DEAD!!!!! :(    Charged it and will post some tomorrow. Won't be long now. Stay safe, Dan

Fished this morning on 2.5 - 3 inches of black ice.  Ended up getting a dozen or so small to medium northerns and a few nice bass.  The wind really started kicking up about 11 am and seamed to be moving the water underneith the ice.  It kept getting worse and worse around the holes even thought it was in the teens or low twenties.  Darn snow on the ice is keeping it thin.  I checked this same spot last night and it didn't make a single bit of ice over night, and it was 10 here.  I decided conditions were eventually going to become dangerous and didn't want to be there when it happened and left by noon.  Pretty good first day out, but the snow is really coming down now.  I bet if you were in an area of the dacks without any snow you'd be able to find much more ice.  Bummer to have safe ice and then get snow dumped on it, but 11/22 might be my earliest date ever on the ice :)

Glad to hear you made the smart decision. Better Safe than sorry. It's awesome that you were able to get out and catch fish this early. It's starting here in NH but we still have a week or so I think? :-\

Nice job!  Glad you got to use the minnows.  Looks like the lack of snow in that area probably made the difference.  I never got out today to look up here.

Snow: There is about 6-8 on the ground right now; it is lake effect and some areas have much more depending on the squall areas in the hills.

Out hunting in sunshine then five minutes later a blizzard and the sunshine............lo ve the DAK weather !

I actually think this may be good for the ice up north? Perhaps melt of some snow and slush???
Perhaps refreeze at night with better ice in the morning?
I can only hope.
